Tui Class are lucky to have Pukeko as our buddy class. We sit with them in church and every other Friday afternoon we get together to read, create art work or even write together. We love our buddies!

Everyday we are learning lots of new things in Tui. I think we are the cleverest class in the school. Here we are practicing our reading. We are also learning about Fire Safety, we talked about safe places at home for our parents to keep matches and lighters. We know that these things are 'tools not toys'.

Tui Class have had a great week swimming. The sun has shone and we've all made great progress in the pool. We have lots of lovely helpers walking us down and helping us get ready. Yesterday Danijela's Bahka (Grandma) helped us and on the way we saw a huge cicada. She told us they have cicadas in Croatia and there is even a song about them!

I was so proud of all the Terrific Tuis today. They all stood up in front of the whole school and led our  school prayer. Our theme was Jesus and our thoughts about him.

We also started our 2 weeks of swimming lessons at Mckenzie Pool. Here are some examples of what we wrote about it.

It was a lovely hot sunny day at Discovery time. Here's Phoebe helping us make sugar scrub to sell at the School Gala on Friday 7th March. As an extra bonus we got a free hand massage. :)

Welcome to Tialemua and her whanau. Today summer was back and Tialemua was welcomed to Sacred Heart Petone. It's great to have you here.

Today we had our lovely first School and Community Mass. Father Albano is a regular visitor to Tui Class and everyone loves to share stories with him. The whole Junior School sang This Little Light of Mine, in class we wrote about how we felt about standing in front of everyone. Next time you are visiting Tui ask to see what was written

Tui Class have had a lovely start to the year. There are 8 of us in the class at the moment and we are all making lots of friends. Despite it being a short week we were very busy learning what happens during the school day. Here we are at printing time.

Kia ora nga Whanau o Tui,

Welcome everyone to Tui class. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and their families. Our class blog will be a window into what is happening at school and will be updated on a regular basis.
