Welcome Samantha

Last Tuesday Samantha started in Tui class. At school prayer her big brother Gabriel and proud mum Pauline introduced her to our Sacred Heart Petone whanau.

WOW begins

On Thursday Tui was action packed with creativity. There was spray painting, gluing, pom pom making, painting and a lot more. Our taniwha has nearly been completed with just a few finishing touches to be done before the big day next week.
Huge thanks to Monica, Jackie, Maree, Anita and Phoebe who gave up their day to help us create our masterpiece.

The Great Duck Race

As part of a fundraiser for several well deserving charities, there is an annual duck race held every year on the Hutt River. This year Sacred Heart Petone is entering a duck and Tui class were chosen to decorate him or her. Oscar made sure it had goggles to protect its eyes in case it went under. Kiri gave it a pretty necklace and Lola some lovely earrings. The rest of us made sure it was as colourful as possible so that we had a chance of spotting it amongst the 2000 plus other contestants.

Junior team dance session

On Friday a very talented lady called Kate came and taught the whole school some dance moves. The junior team loved all the superheros that were part of the upbeat fun routine.

Another exciting day in Tui

Today we welcomed Samantha to Tui class. It's great to have you with us and we are amazed at how well you settled into class, even being brave enough to be part of the taniwha. It's quite tricky walking as a body of 16 parts but it looks amazing already. Just wait til we've had a chance to add all our creative parts to it.

What a lovely smile Samantha has on her first day.

Look at how long our body is.

We needed to practice walking, 16 pairs of feet in one body are quite tricky!

This is great said Oscar. It's going to be very long said Phoebe.
Look at fantastic Angelina already into it and its her very first day.

Welcome Angelina

It was a special day in Tui on Monday as we welcomed Angelina to Sacred Heart. Her lovely big sister Brianna and her proud mum and dad all introduced her to school at school prayer. Welcome Angelina we are thrilled to have you here.
