We are so lucky to have lots of different cultures here at Sacred Heart. This week we are celebrating Tongan Language Week. We are practicing the days of the week, greetings and the sign of the cross in Tongan. Apai is very proud of his Tongan heritage and very happy to be sharing his language with Tui.

Leading School Prayer
Monday morning Tui class stood up in front of the whole school and helped lead our prayer. We shared our cards that we had made on reminders of how ways we can try to listen to the Holy Spirit and live out our school values.
Sharing in front of everyone can be quite a scary thing to do when you are 5, and we were all fantastic. Mrs Pennington was so proud of us all especially Tom who only arrived back at school after a month away overseas.

Windy days for tui
Today we ran outside in the cold strong wind then raced back inside to our warm cosy classroom buzzing with ideas for our writing.
Starting early in Tui class.
Anthony came for his first school visit. He brought his mum and his gorgeous younger sister Maria for support. Maria is only 2 but doesn't she look ready for school in her very own uniform.

Welcome to Zephannia
With 2 of our jet setting Tui's overseas and a few nasty bugs going around, the numbers in Tui Class have been quite low over the last couple of week,. so we were thrilled to welcome Zephannia yesterday. His big sister Vitannia helped keep an eye on him but he didn't need her at all and he settled in with a smile.
Every morning Tui start the day with Te Karere. This is a chance to share our news with a buddy. We know we have to face each other, listen carefully and take turns. Here's Apai and Mia catching up.
